There are many stories of remarkable people waiting to be told. There are few so rich as the pioneers who arrived in Thailand some 50 years ago when it was a very different country. Father Larry was one of several Redemptorist priests who left their native America to carry out their mission among the poor and disadvantaged.
Father Larry worked with lepers in the north east of the country for eight years, caring for them in desperately primitive conditions, before serving in the slums of Bangkok. He finally took up the reins left by Father Ray Brennan in Pattaya, inheriting a huge family of children.
Sadly Father Larry became sick last year and returned to the US for treatment. He died earlier this year.
On this video we catch a glimpse of this wonderful man and his life's work, accompanied by a tribute from his lifelong friend, Fr Mike Shea.
