Naw Pee was abandoned as a baby in 2002. She was a triplet, premature, and severely underweight. Her sisters died shortly after birth. Our friends at the orphanage took her in, but she struggled with poor health.
Thanks to our sponsors, staff were able to give Naw Pee the care and attention she needed. Her weight and height gradually caught up. Now she is a normal little girl, goes to school and smiles so much.
Naw Pee says:
"I want to be an educated person in the future, so I go to school and I study regularly. I like drawing, and sometimes I draw a lot of pictures. I want to say thank you to the donors who provide our educational fees."
If you sponsor an orphan with us, that could be you she’s talking to; a little girl who is eternally grateful to you. Please consider sponsoring an orphan today to begin to be part of a success story like this. Maung Mae, baby Jonah and Eh Paw could reach their dreams of becoming a doctor, striker for Liverpool or teacher/designer/accountant! Fill in the form on this page right now, it only takes a few minutes to make sure these children are not alone. Thank you.
Orphanages on the Burma Border
The SAW Safe House and Heavenly Home Orphanage provide homes for children of Burmese nationality who have been orphaned or abandoned in Thailand. The most poignant are, perhaps, the babies who have been born to young mothers in the Mae Tao clinic, and abandoned there. These children have no known family, no nationality papers. They are alone in the world. You can change that today if you sponsor an orphan.
Thai Children’s Trust is now the largest regular contributor to SAW Safe House and Heavenly Home. They are in dire need of funds to continue caring for these children.
Sponsor an orphan - a way out of poverty
The children at SAW Safe House all attend Thai School. This education is vital to help them escape poverty and realise their dreams. This also allows the children Thai citizenship -the right to live in the country that they call home.
Some of the Heavenly Home children are also able to attend Thai school and we hope as the younger ones reach school age they will join their peers.
However, there is a cost involved. School uniforms, books, stationary and transport to the schools all have to be paid for. As Thai is not the Children’s first language they need a language teacher to develop their Thai language skills. The total of these extra costs amounts to 545,873 baht per annum, about £10,000.
This is a great chance for these children to integrate in to Thai society and opportunities like this don’t come along often for the children in our care.
We want to give these children the love and care they need, but we also want to give them hope for the future, to achieve their dreams. Can you sponsor an orphan and give this remarkable gift to these children?
Experience the joy of seeing them grow up, knowing they are not alone.
